August 1815 Eyre is born
20 March 1833 Eyre arrived in Australia
3 January 1838 Eyre began his journey to be the first to arrive in South Australia overland from Sydney
May 1839 This time he goes on a northern exploration. He reached the head of Spencer Gulf and travelled on towards the Flinder's Ranges
1840 'the discovery of the interior of Australia'. On 18 June Eyre set out from Adelaide to venture to the head of Spencer Gulf in the government cutter Waterwitch.
25 February 1841. Eyre left Fowler's Bay and went towards Eucla though 217 km of desert. On April 29th two of the natives killed Baxter and ran off with the supplies.
2 June 1841 After being stranded without supplies Eyre is saved by a whaling vessel, Mississippi .
